my Felt S22 a.k.a Bumblebee

i promised to update you peeps on my bike.and here i am!

i got my Felt S22 from Fusion (www.fusioncycle.com) a few weeks back where Millen (the guy who design and create Singapore's very own bike) fitted me on my current bike. i would say it's a mid-range bike (not exactly high end) but i love almost everything about it and it's a real good deal ($2000 for bikes and close to $400 for accessories such as shoes and all).

Being a triathlon bike (tri-bike), it has very "aggressive" geometry which is different from that of a normal road or mountain bike. it has a steeper seat post (where the saddle is) which pushes your body more front than a normal seat post. this is to allow the usage of a different muscle group (dunno which one!) for cycling and not exhaust them for running (which is right after cycling in triathlons).

that's a lot to get used to. being on a mountain bike for a while, it feels very different to be on a tri-bike. i have to figure out how to use the cleats to get into the pedals (bike shoes has cleats at the bottom to chip onto the pedals), how to change the gears (gears shifters are on the aero bars), how to get into aero position, how to mount and dismount (the bike is very "tall") and most importantly, how to get to my water bottle.

so far so good =), Evan got me on my first ride to Mandai and back. the ride was good but lost my water bottle (don't ask me how). last week,i went for a training chalet (very ironic words, i know) with Yellowfish group and cycle at Changi which was a very good place to cycle. i went into aero position for several times but had to struggle with keeping my speed around 27to28 kph. i fell on my way back and suffer some nasty wounds on my left side (was too attracted to jumbo seafood!). what a waste since i was less than 5 minutes from the chalet! argh! but i still went for a 10km run after that. haha but these wounds on my left calf, knee, hip and shoulder have been keeping me away from swimming. it's super irritating, considering i have a tribob sprint race coming up next week (20th april). guess i have to swim more this coming week!

cycling is real fun. i've come to love it along the way. the adrendaline of going so fast just keeps me up in the clouds. on the Changi flat, i reached 36 kph and wah, it feels good! kinda carefree! would be cycling more to train up my cycling fitness! and the question of how reaching 40 kph will linger in my mind and disturb me!

well if you are interested in the specs of the bike:
